Steel Axis: Dendias and Jaber Strengthen Greece-UAE Defense Alliance

On Friday, May 2, 2025, Greece’s Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, accompanied by Deputy Minister of National Defense Thanasis Davakis, welcomed the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, at the Ministry of National Defense in Athens, the Greek capital.

During the meeting, the two Ministers reached an agreement to further strengthen the defense ecosystems (ELKAK – EDGE) of both nations and to establish a long-term partnership within the framework of broader strategic defense cooperation between Greece and the UAE.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis; the Director General of the General Directorate for Defense Equipment and Investments, Major General Ioannis Bouras; the Director General of the General Directorate for Defense Policy and International Relations, Ambassador (ret.) Michail Spinellis; the CEO of ELKAK, Pantelis Tzortzakis; and relevant staff officers of the Armed Forces.
